Together We Stand in Community
Our parish community is made up of many groups, ministries and activities that help people grow in faith, friendship and service. Whether through prayer, social gatherings, practical support, or acts of charity, these groups offer parishioners the opportunity to meet others, share their gifts and play an active part in the life of the Church.
Everyone is warmly welcome to get involved. Whether you are looking for spiritual support, friendship, a way to serve others, or simply a place to feel more connected, we hope you will find a group within our parish community that feels right for you.
Ladies 232 Circle
We are a group of Catholic ladies who meet once a month at Aston Wood Golf Club, Blake Street, Sutton Coldfield, B74 4EU for friendship, a 2-course meal and an after-dinner talk or entertainment.
Often the February meal is replaced by a trip to the theatre and in the summer months we usually hold an Afternoon Tea and an outing.
We would be delighted to welcome new members so why not come along and join us for an evening? Just give our co-chair, Barbara, a call on 0121 353 8855 and she will be happy to give you more details
Prayer Group
All are welcome to join a small group of parishioners for an hour of quiet meditation and prayer. If you are interested come to the conference room at 7.30pm on a Monday evening. Meetings are twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Mondays and details will be in the newsletter the weekend before.
St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP)
The St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) group in the parishes of Sacred Heart and Holy Trinity is an active and welcoming group that provides, person‑to‑person support to those experiencing any form of poverty, isolation, or hardship. We befriend the lonely, visit the sick, feed the hungry and we are of practical help to those in need. At the heart of everything we do is human connection – giving our time, listening, and simply being there for others. It is a small gift that can make a lasting difference to those we help.
Our members visit people who may be alone at home or in hospital, and spend time with them, providing friendship and company. We assist those who require help to attend church or keep appointments or go shopping. We collect clothing, household goods, and other necessities and distribute them to those in need. Where we can, we provide material support by helping to buy food or contribute to household overheads (such as energy bills).
Rooted in the Church’s mission of charity and justice, the SVP plays a vital role by responding to local needs with compassion and dignity. The support we provide might be limited in scope or might be longer-term. Our aim is to lend a helping hand to those in need and help them to live their lives more fully.
The work of the SVP is only possible because of its volunteers, and more members are always needed. Whether you can give an hour a week or only occasional help, your presence and goodwill can make a meaningful difference. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of age or availability.
